IIT Madras Invites Applications for MS in Entrepreneurship Program. IIT Madras is widely admired as the leading Institute in India promoting Startups, incubation, and entrepreneurship promotion and support systems, more particularly entrepreneurial ventures of the deep technology variety, with an enviable start-up ecosystem. Offered since 1982-83, the MS (Entrepreneurship) by Research program is India’s torchbearer among all Institutions of higher learning that have aimed to promote entrepreneurship via their programs. Over the last four decades, it has matured steadily and strongly to emerge as a benchmark among all entrepreneurship-focused Institutional programs, as can be evidenced by the prestigious international and national awards and honors conferred on the scholars and their start-ups.

Students apply against a call for admission against specific projects as listed in the application process. Applications are screened based on the responses and candidates are called for an interview. The interview is done by the committee consisting of a panel of faculty members, including the faculty who proposed the idea. Students selected from the interview are recommended for admission to the MS(E) program subject to the availability of seats. The host department will be the department of the main guide (project proposer). Students will complete recommended courses by the Graduate Test Committee (GTC) and as recommended by the guide. Students will submit a business development thesis, recommended and approved by the GTC for the award of the degree.
