CSIR- Centre for Cellular & Molecular Biology (CCMB) invites applicants for the summer training program. The selected candidate/ trainee will be supervised/mentored by CCMB scientists to execute small project work. A lecture series on popular science topics, scientific ethics, good laboratory practices, and opportunities in life sciences will be organized for the students. The program mainly intends to give students real-time exposure/ hands-on experience in research.
Application procedure
An authorization letter from the HOD/ DEAN of the Institute/ University/ College for the Summer Program- 2025 should be submitted online. The names of the selected candidates will be posted on the CCMB website. It may be noted that no separate intimation would be sent to any candidate, and thus, all applicants are expected to check the ‘selection list’ on the CCMB website and send their consent.
Boarding/ Lodging
CCMB will not provide accommodation, and students must make arrangements for their stay during the training period.
Important points to note
- Applications for Summer Program 2025 MUST be submitted ONLINE only.
- The duration of the program is 60 days. All candidates selected for the program must spend 60 days in CCMB without any break.
- Requests/ applications for the program sent before this notification will not be considered. Any such candidate MUST apply again using the prescribed application form.
- Students must upload copies of marks/ grades obtained from 10th standard till date. In case the marks sheet/ grades for the 2nd semester (or first year) of M.Sc, M.Tech and M.Pharm, 6th semester (last semester of pre-final year) of B.Tech, 8th semester (last semester of pre-final year) of Integrated B.Tech – M.Tech, 8th semester (four years) of B.Sc-M.Sc, the third year of MBBS/ BDS, and three years of B.Sc (4-year B.Sc. Biosciences) are unavailable at the time of application submission, they MUST upload a certificate from the college/ institute that they have appeared for the exams and the results are awaited.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered and will be rejected.
- Academic excellence and a Statement of Purpose (SOP) will be considered when selecting the candidates. However, the average chance of selection is less than 10% as the number of applications we receive is usually high against few scientists.
- The institute’s decision regarding the selection of candidates shall be final.
- Canvassing in any form and bringing in any political or otherwise influence will be treated as disqualifying.
- All candidates are required to furnish an authorization letter from the Head of the Department/ DEAN in the prescribed format.
